                          This session will explore the process of innovation and the role of government policy in fostering an environment which allows innovation to prosper-including policies related to intellectual property protection and enforcement, standards, tax, investment, science and technology parks, venture capital, education, and research and development.  The participants will outline the R&D process in their industry, highlighting the various policies which have allowed and encouraged them to invest in innovation, as well as those policies that have hindered innovation.
